SYDNEY –On Nov 8, about 10 million Australians woke up to discover that they had no phone or Internet access. Then they learnt the cause: a nationwide outage at Singtel-owned Optus, the country’s second-largest telecommunications company.
It took about 12 hours for services to resume, leaving some businesses unable to process transactions and affecting rail networks, hospitals and banks.
