JAKARTA – When it is election season in Indonesia, parking attendant Lukman springs into action to try to make some money from the political pageantry in the world’s third-largest democracy.

And business appears to be booming, with Mr Lukman often in demand for his “rent-a-crowd” service that has takers among candidates ranging from presidential to parliamentary hopefuls.
