NEW DELHI – The consecration of the temple for Lord Ram in Ayodhya will bolster Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s image as a strong nationalist leader who fulfils the aspirations of India’s majority Hindus, giving his 2024 re-election campaign a boost, said political analysts.
Mr Modi is already seen as the front runner in the upcoming general election, due before May, as he seeks a third consecutive term in power.
