SINGAPORE - The former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station will be open to the public on Vesak Day on Monday.

The Singapore Land Authority said in a statement on Friday that people can visit the historic site to take photos and sketch impressions.

Visitors can leave their drawings at the former ticketing counter of the station. The sketches may be displayed at the next open house.

The former railway station has been open during public holidays since February and has drawn close to 12,530 visitors. A record 7,200 people visited the station on Good Friday on April 3.

In April 2011, the main building of the station was made a national monument and the station ceased operations in July that year.
