SINGAPORE – Since her two sons were young, Mrs Anna Yap, a polytechnic educator, has known that one child was more suited for the junior college (JC) route while the other would thrive in a polytechnic.

Mrs Yap, 53, a senior director at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), came to this conclusion based on the boys’ different learning styles and characters.
