Singaporean e-sports player granted 4-month NS deferment for Overwatch World Cup tournament

SINGAPORE - Local e-sports player Figo Chua has been granted deferment from national service, and will be representing Singapore at the Overwatch World Cup tournament in the United States in October.

Mr Chua, who goes by the moniker Azalea, was supposed to enlist on Aug 14, but told The Straits Times on Tuesday (Aug 6) he has secured a deferment until December from the Ministry of Defence (Mindef).
