It was Lewis Hamilton who spoke of the need to pull a rabbit from a hat if he was going to have a genuine chance to win the Hungarian GP. With the seven-time champion stunning all to snatch pole position for the first time in 595 days and 33 races, and a record ninth at any race track, boy did we all hope for some sleight of hand on Sunday.
No disrespect to either Max Verstappen or Red Bull, who have been doing such a brilliant job these past two seasons, but so many people were desperate for a change up front.
