SINGAPORE - The suspension of major football leagues and sports events worldwide owing to the coronavirus pandemic has not only delivered a blow to sports TV programming for fans, but also the coffers of some food and beverage outlets here.

Over the weekend, there were no live English Premier League matches, National Basketball Association games, Formula One races, tennis or golf action on Singtel and StarHub. In their place were re-runs of earlier events.
